I recently learned of another park nearby; the Blinkhorn Nature Park, which has a wooded trail surrounding a small lake and today was the perfect day to check it out. For most of the way around the lake, the trail was far enough away that you could only catch the odd glimpse of the water through the trees. There was one nice approach to the lake that offered an interesting view, though.

Of course, the reflection in the water was so nice, I couldn’t resist flipping it 180°. The rest of my walk was an enjoyable one, surrounded by trees and the quiet chirping of little birds that were incredibly shy. They were also very quick and I never managed to make a photo of them.

After this brief walk, I wanted to spend more time in the sun, so I went down to the Sooke boardwalk & Rotary Pier. It’s a favourite because there is always something interesting to see and is a nice, relaxing walk.

The boardwalk itself makes for an interesting subject.

Seagulls are another regular subject for me. I believe this one’s name is Rob.
